Official Rules
1. No purchase necessary
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO PLAY OR WIN. Quest Claim is free to play, and nothing can be bought to improve your chances of winning. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
2. Who runs it and who sponsors it
Quest Claim hunts are administered by Quest Claim LLC, 712 Park Street, Clinton, MO 64735 ("Quest Claim", "we", "us"). Each sponsored hunt is sponsored by the business named on that hunt (the "Sponsor"), which funds that hunt's prize; Quest Claim administers the hunt, reviews claims and pays the prize. The progressive jackpot hunt is sponsored and administered by Quest Claim. Google LLC and Apple Inc. are not sponsors of, and are not involved in, any Quest Claim hunt, contest or prize. Questions about these Rules: questclaimapp@gmail.com.
3. Who can win
Anyone 18 or older with a verified email address may play. To be eligible to win a prize you must, when you dig and when the prize is paid: (a) be a legal resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia; (b) be at least 18 years old and at least the age of majority where you live; (c) have only one Quest Claim account; and (d) not be an excluded person below. On the jackpot hunt, a dig from an account whose declared country is outside the US is refused before it counts. On every hunt, payout also needs a US tax address and, when Section 7 requires it, a US tax ID. A winning claim by an ineligible person is void: the prize is treated as unclaimed under Section 10 and stays in play.
Excluded persons. The following may not win any jackpot prize, and may not win a prize from any hunt their business funded: (1) any Sponsor, meaning any person or business that has funded a Quest Claim hunt in the current or previous calendar year, and that Sponsor's owners, officers, directors, employees and agents; and (2) the immediate family members (spouse or partner, parents, children, siblings, and each of their spouses) of anyone in (1), and anyone living in the same household. Quest Claim's owners, staff and contractors, and their immediate family members and households, may not win any prize.
4. How to win
Each hunt has a written clue about real landmarks near a hidden spot. Clues are drafted by AI software and checked by Quest Claim's software against map data. To play, you work out the area the clue describes using the clue, landmarks, terrain and other map details shown in the app, move the map crosshair to where you think the treasure is, and tap DIG. Play is remote: you dig on the map from wherever you are, not at your physical location, and you never need to travel to the spot. A dig wins if it lands within the hunt's dig radius of the hidden spot: 100 meters for Easy, 75 meters for Medium and 50 meters for Hard hunts, and 10 meters [to be confirmed] for the jackpot hunt. The radius is not drawn on the map, the app gives no hot-or-cold hints, and the game never uses your device location. The first winning dig that becomes a Validated Win under Section 6 wins that hunt's prize.
5. Tries
You get 8 digs on your first hunt and 10 digs on every later hunt. Tries are counted per account, per hunt, by our servers. Tries cannot be bought, earned or transferred.
6. Validated Wins and Prize Wallet credit
A Validated Win is an approved winning claim recorded by Quest Claim's server under the published eligibility, winning-dig and verification criteria. When a Validated Win is recorded, the full stated prize is immediately credited to the winner's personal Prize Wallet. The wallet lists hunts won, each credited prize value and the total available balance. A credit records the prize owed; it is not completed delivery to a bank or gift card. A pending, unverified claim is not yet a Validated Win.
Quest Claim may refuse a claim, and disqualify the player, if the claim breaks these Rules, comes from an ineligible or excluded person, uses more than one account, automated tools or a tampered device, or looks fraudulent. If a claim is refused, the hunt continues as if that dig had not won. We will not disqualify a claim arbitrarily.
7. Cashout, verification and taxes
You choose when to request cashout of your available Prize Wallet balance through Tremendous. There is no fixed deadline to request cashout. Applicable unclaimed-property law continues to apply; inactivity alone does not create a contractual 90-day forfeiture. Quest Claim obtains identity and tax information when legally required in connection with a prize credit or payment, makes required information returns, and collects and remits withholding when required by law. Verification may temporarily delay payment, but is not itself forfeiture of a legitimate prize. Complete cashout requests are processed promptly, with payout status and notice of material delay. Delivery after submission depends on Tremendous and the chosen method. Prizes are taxable income. You remain responsible for your final income-tax liability. Applicable reporting thresholds and withholding rules are those required by law; withholding is not automatically imposed on every prize. An available Prize Wallet credit may have tax consequences before you request cashout.
8. Taxes
Prizes are taxable income at any amount, even if you do not receive a tax form, and you are responsible for any tax you owe. Quest Claim reports prizes to the IRS on Form 1099-MISC when your prize total from Quest Claim for the calendar year reaches the federal reporting threshold ($2,000 for 2026; adjusted for inflation in later years), and to states as their rules require. If the law requires tax to be withheld on your prize (for example, backup withholding after the IRS tells us your tax ID is incorrect), Quest Claim pays that tax for you from sponsor-funded amounts and does not reduce your prize. Tax paid for you this way is also taxable income to you, so the amount reported on your Form 1099-MISC will include both your prize and the tax paid on your behalf.
9. How hidden spots are set, and odds
Hidden spots are placed by Quest Claim's software, not hand-picked by the Sponsor or by Quest Claim staff. For a sponsored hunt, the software places the spot at an undisclosed distance of 150 to 400 meters from the area the Sponsor chose, in a direction the software picks. For the jackpot hunt, the software picks a land location anywhere in the world. Clues are then written about landmarks around that spot. No winner is drawn at random: a prize goes to the first eligible player whose dig lands within the dig radius and is approved. Your chance of winning depends on how well you interpret the clue and the map, how many tries you have left, how many other players are searching, and who reaches the spot first. Because these differ for every hunt and change while it runs, the odds of winning cannot be calculated in advance and are not published.
10. Unclaimed prizes and the progressive jackpot
Sponsored hunts and clues. When a treasure is found through a Validated Win, its clue is deleted. The clue or hunt may then be recycled, reused or repurposed for a future hunt; any future hunt has its own published prize and winning criteria. Reuse does not cancel an earned award from the original hunt. If the treasure remains unfound when the Sponsor's selected 30-, 60- or 90-day advertising duration expires, the unfound prize money rolls into the progressive jackpot. The hunt stays live, but its displayed clue text is removed. An earned Prize Wallet credit is not unfound prize money and is not cancelled or rolled over because an advertising duration expires. The prize is not refunded to the Sponsor. Prizes from void claims are also added to the jackpot. Quest Claim's fees are never added.
Jackpot prize and maximum. The prize for the jackpot hunt is the jackpot balance at the moment the winning dig is recorded, up to a maximum of $5,000 (the "Jackpot Maximum"). The approximate retail value (ARV) of a jackpot prize is the amount shown as the jackpot prize in the app when the winning dig is recorded, and it is never more than $5,000.
Next jackpot reserve. Any balance above the Jackpot Maximum is held as the reserve for the next jackpot hunt. It is shown separately in the app as the "next jackpot reserve" and is not part of the current prize.
How the jackpot hunt runs. One jackpot hunt is active at a time, reached from the jackpot counter. Its hidden spot stays the same until a winning claim is approved. While a winning claim is reviewed, the hunt is locked; if the claim is refused, the same hunt continues. After an approved win, a new jackpot hunt with a new spot and new clues starts, with the reserve as its opening balance (up to the Jackpot Maximum). The jackpot hunt has no end date and runs until it is won. If Quest Claim ends the jackpot program, we will give at least 30 days' notice in the app, keep the current jackpot hunt open until it is won, and [to be confirmed].
11. Prizes
Each hunt shows its prize value and how cashout may be delivered (for example, a digital gift card or a money transfer through Tremendous); that value is the prize's ARV. When a Validated Win is recorded, the full stated prize is immediately credited to the winner's personal Prize Wallet as described in Section 6. Prizes are awarded to the eligible winner only and cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for anything else. Cashout follows Section 7. If a stated gift card or payout method becomes unavailable, Quest Claim may substitute a method of equal or greater value. Gift cards are subject to their issuer's terms. Quest Claim is not responsible for a cashout that cannot be completed because the winner gave wrong details; we will try to contact the winner at their account email. Payouts are made only to US addresses and accounts.
12. Publicity
We never use your name or likeness in publicity unless you opt in. Winner names are off by default. If you opt in, your chosen handle, or your first name and last initial, is shown on the public prize list and the jackpot ledger. You can change or turn this off at any time in the app. Hidden spot locations, your dig locations and your personal details are never published.
13. Your safety and the law
Play is remote: you never need to go to a hidden spot, and no prize is buried or placed at any physical location. Clues name real places. If you choose to visit any place a clue mentions, you do so at your own risk, must obey all laws, and must not enter private property without permission, restricted or closed areas, or anywhere unsafe. Never use the app while driving or operating a vehicle. Breaking this section can lead to disqualification.
14. Release and limitation of liability
By playing, you agree that Quest Claim, each Sponsor, and their owners, officers, employees and agents (the "Released Parties") are not responsible for: technical failures, lost or late digs, errors in clues, map data or the app, network or device problems, or any injury, loss or damage arising from playing or from accepting or using a prize, except where caused by a Released Party's gross negligence or willful misconduct or where the law does not allow this release. If a hunt is affected by fraud, a technical failure or anything else outside our reasonable control that harms its fairness, Quest Claim may pause it, fix it, or end it and add its prize to the progressive jackpot. To the fullest extent the law allows, the Released Parties' total liability to you for any claim related to these Rules is limited to the value of the prize in question.
15. Disputes and governing law
These Rules are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about these Rules or a prize is resolved under the dispute-resolution and arbitration section of the Quest Claim Terms of Service, including its informal-resolution step, individual arbitration, class-action waiver, small-claims option and 30-day opt-out. If these Rules and the Terms conflict about a hunt or prize, these Rules control.
16. Changes to these Rules
We may update these Rules for future hunts. We will show the new version in the app before it applies. A change will not reduce a prize already shown for a live hunt or the rights of a winner whose claim was already approved.
17. Winners list and privacy
The public prize list in the app shows every real hunt, its prize and status, and each winner's opt-in name. For a written winners list, email questclaimapp@gmail.com within 90 days after a hunt ends. How we use your information is described in the Privacy Policy.
18. Future: other countries
Payouts outside the US are not offered at launch. If that changes, these Rules will be updated first.
